Welcome to the IAYT Accreditation Process!

IAYT accreditation is a voluntary process designed for IAYT member schools who seek accreditation of their yoga therapy training programs that meet the IAYT Educational Standards for the Training of Yoga Therapists.

The accreditation process is demanding and requires a deep commitment. IAYT’s goal is to be as supportive to its Member Schools as possible while maintaining a fair and objective process.

The accreditation application requires a great deal of data and information and the review process is a rigorous one. We want to be sure you have all the information and understanding that you need in order to submit a complete application. This will save a lot of time and energy on both your part and the part of IAYT and the Accreditation Committee once your application is submitted.

A Two-Step Application Process

The accreditation process begins with the submission of a Letter of Intent via a web-based form. Following the submission of a Letter of Intent, a potential applicant participates in a conference call with Accreditation staff and a member of the Accreditation Committee to discuss the potential applicant's readiness to complete the full accreditation application. When the potential applicant is ready, he or she will begin to fill out the online application and create the required documentation that must be submitted with the online application.

Submission Periods

IAYT accepts new applications twice a year:

  • October 15th – November 15th
  • March 15th – April 15th
