Is Yoga Medicine?
Yoga Therapy Enters the Arena

LA Yoga article by Julie Deife

At a time when the U.S. healthcare system is being decried as broken, bloated, inefficient and a pawn of the pharmaceutical industry, what should yogis be thinking to even consider getting involved, some might ask.

"This is a thought-provoking, insightful and challenging article.  IAYT and our contributors address these issues in every issue of Yoga Therapy in Practice, in the International Journal of Yoga Therapy, and at SYTAR."
-John Kepner, IAYT Executive Director

In her one-year stay in India, Renno completed the advanced teachers training course at the Yoga Institute, which has proved valuable in the private practice she currently maintains in the U.S.

Yoga Therapy Featured in the
New York Times Generates Interest

Since Nora Isaac’s article “The Yoga Therapist Will See You Now” appeared in the New York Times in May, IAYT has received many inquiries. With the mention of the work of several IAYT members, this article illustrates how effective Yoga therapy can be. Isaacs also stresses the importance of differentiating therapists who have had proper training. The increasing frequency of mainstream articles like this is a good reason to keep your professional profile at IAYT up to date.
