Perri began teaching yoga in 1995. She has trained with The Yoga Institute of Houston, Richard Miller, Desikachar, Susi Hatley, Leslie Kaminoff, the Krishnamacharya Mandarin in Chennai, India and many others over her 20 year career. She continues to offer viniyoga, class lessons, specific workshops on The Pelvic Floor, Breathing for Wellness, Alignment and Chakra's. Perri has been teaching full time since she opened her first yoga studio in 1998. In 2015, Perri graduated her first group of teachers who spent 350 hours studying the wisdom and practices of yoga in both group and individual lessons.
As a philosophy student, it has and is the wisdom of yoga that continues to be Perri's primary inspiration. Through all of her teachings she seeks to explore the philosophy as it is experienced through the practices.
Perri received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Philosophy, with a minor in Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in 1985. She continues to study Indian Philosophy at Queens today.
Beginning in 2004, Perri began working with Sister Elaine MacInnes and Freeing the Human Spirit organization, teaching yoga and meditation in federal prisons. Perri co-ordinates these programs in 6 institutions, trains teacher's and teaches in the prison still.
