JAYNE ROBERTSON has been teaching the holistic value of movement in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for 34 years. Whether to gymnasts, physical education & recreation students, personal training clients, fitness enthusiasts or yoga students, she has been able to draw upon her vast knowledge of human anatomy, metaphysics and healthy living.
In September 2013, Jayne took on the role of Mind-Body Program Manager for the Eisenhower Wellness Institute which is an integral and expanding part of Eisenhower Medical Center. The Wellness Institute is offering mind-body based classes, workshops, seminars and services throughout the Coachella Valley including Eisenhower Women’s Health in Rancho Mirage and The Mind-Body Studio in Palm Desert. Jayne and her staff offer semi-private yoga classes, one-on-one yoga therapy sessions and larger group yoga classes. Jayne offers a 200-hour YTT and also leads workshops and retreats in California and Queensland, Australia.
She holds both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in exercise and sports science and 700+ hours of formal yoga studies. Over the past ten years, she has concentrated on yoga therapy and the philosophical practices of yoga. Jayne continues to study with her two most influential yoga teachers: Nischala Joy Devi and Judith Hanson Lasater. Having taught literally thousands of classes throughout her career, Jayne’s teachings have tremendous depth and breadth that allow her to support and connect with students on many levels.
With her strong commitment to her yogic path, at the beginning of 2012 Jayne began raising awareness and funds for the Global Seva Challenge-India. This is in collaboration with Off the Mat, Into the World, a non-profit yoga based organization. Her goal of $20,000 was directed toward addressing the issue of sex trafficking in India and supporting efforts to rescue and rehabilitate victims of the trade. She raised over $28,000 in 2012 and traveled to India in February 2013 to visit the programs and partners that are being supported by the Global Seva Challenge.
An avid writer, Jayne has posted close to 300 blogs that can be found at www.desertyogatherapy.blogspot.com. The subject matter revolves around integrating yoga into our everyday lives.
In 2011, Jayne collaborated with her musician brother, Ken Robertson to create the CD, Optimal Healing: Guided Imagery for Pre & Post Surgery which can be found on iTunes and a CDbaby.com.
