During my doctoral studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, I conducted a clinical trial to investigate the effects of an 8-week yoga program for patients with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. I am now working with NIH to repeat this research with underserved populations. Additionally, I offer workshops for existing yoga teachers to address the unique concerns of students with arthritis. I am also a health behaviorist with a broad base of clients working on goals related to chronic disease risk, sleep concerns, weight loss and work/life balance. I recently joined the Maryland University of Integrative Health as Associate Academic Director of Integrative Health Sciences. I teach in the Yoga Therapy Program and help to develop the scientific and scholarly rigor at the university.
