IAYT membership is open to Yoga practitioners, Yoga teachers, Yoga therapists, health professionals utilizing Yoga in their practice, and Yoga researchers. As a member of IAYT, you will not only support your own development as a Yoga professional, but also contribute to the dissemination of Yoga as a recognized and respected therapy in the Western World.

Your Membership Includes:

Subscription to the annual International Journal of Yoga Therapy
This journal, the only one of its kind in the world, brings in-depth articles on various philosophy, theory, and practice of Yoga therapy. It reports on current research and addresses practical and policy issues for Yoga therapists. Each issue also contains book and video reviews. IJYT is published each October and distributed to all current members. Back issues are also available.

Subscription to the new tri-annual, Yoga Therapy in Practice (YTIP) Newsletter
YTIP provides practical ideas for Yoga practitioners, Yoga teachers, Yoga therapists, and healthcare professionals. This newsletter includes brief case studies, short articles on professional issues, descriptions of Yoga practices for specific populations, and other topics of interest to members. This newsletter contains some content previously published in IJYT and Yoga Studies. Published Feb, May and July.

Yoga Research Summaries, an on-line report on the latest Yoga research. Updated monthly.
Yoga Research Updates & News, an on-line listing of opportunities to collaborate or participate in Yoga research.

Searchable Membership Listing and Professional Profile
IAYT provides a searchable listing of members and Yoga therapists on our website as well as the option for members to provide an indepth professional profile. Profiles allow the public and healthcare professionals to find members with the qualifications and experience important to them, and support member networking. Many of our members are pioneers of therapeutic applications of Yoga in the West, and you may learn about their background through their profiiles.

Substantial Registration Discounts to IAYT's annual association meeting, the IAYT Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research (SYTAR), and most other IAYT sponsored events. 

The Second IAYT Symposium will be held March 6-9, 2008 in Los Angeles, CA.

Extensive Bibliographies on Yoga and Health Conditions
Members have access to the full set of IAYT bibliographies. Currently over 50 are posted on the website. The bibliographies contain citations for journal articles, books, chapters or sections in books, magazine articles, newspaper articles, online resources, audiotapes, CD's, videotapes, and DVD's related to each subject. Where applicable, an "Ongoing Research" section is included that describes studies in progress and provides contact information for each researher.

This unique, in-depth online journal features practical and philosophical articles on Yoga and Yoga therapy, Questions & Answers, News, Networking, Research Summaries, Yoga Therapy Courses, and related topics. Back issues are available.

Discount on All Items in the IAYT Bookstore
We offer a 10% discount to members on all items sold through the IAYT bookstore, excluding back issues of Yoga Studies and IJYT. A special discount of 25% is offered to new members who purchase a complete set of back issues of IJYT.

IAYT Membership Certificate
A membership certificate suitable for framing is available upon request.

Professional Membership
$75/year in the U.S; $90/year outside the U.S. (IAYT uses bulk mail within the US, but uses airmail everywhere else)

  • Three years Membership    $180 U.S., $225 outside the U.S.


Supporting Membership
$108/year in the U.S.; $118/year outside the U.S. 

Supporting Memberships have long been an important source of funding for the expansion of IAYT's member and public services.  Supporting Members receive all the benefits of Professional Members.  In addition, Supporting Members are acknowledged in our new searchable directory and receive a free copy of the exquisite Patanjali poster issued in 2001 by Yoga Research and Education Center.

Patron Membership

$1,008  for both U.S. and outside the U.S.  (This is a five year membership)

Patron membership is a renewed membership category for IAYT. Most of your contribution is tax deductible, and you will receive a personal acknowledgment and formal tax statement for your records. This is an enhanced means to support IAYT’s mission and improve funding for current priorities. See Support IAYT. Our intent is also to foster a longer-term relationship with IAYT.

Patron Members receive all the benefits of Supporting Members and are also acknowledged in our searchable directory and in Yoga Therapy in Practice.

KYTA, HITA and IYTA Members
KYTA, HITA and IYTA Members may join as Professional or Supporting Members, and dues information is provided when making payment. Your current KYTA, HITA or IYTA Membership number is required.
