Karen O’Donnell Clarke, director of Yoga Heals Us LLC, teaches therapeutic adaptive yoga classes for seniors and students living with multiple sclerosis and other chronic health conditions. She offers private yoga therapy for individuals with a variety of needs including support before, during, and after treatment for cancer.
In addition to teaching weekly yoga classes on location throughout southeastern Connecticut since 1996, Karen also present workshops nationally for yoga teachers and caring professionals in adaptive yoga techniques, hosted by yoga centers and local chapters of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. She is on faculty at several Yoga Teacher Training programs and a mentor for the Integrative Yoga Therapy Internship Program.
Since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1997, she credits the practices and philosophy of yoga for helping her remain healthy and nearly symptom free for over a dozen years. When she was diagnosed and treated for cancer in 2012, she had yoga practices to lean on that enhanced her recovery. Her business, Yoga Heals Us LLC, reflects her enthusiasm that yoga heals us - on all levels of our being - body, mind, and spirit.
