In this issue
- Original research articles in the 2018 edition of the International Journal of Yoga Therapy cover yoga interventions in a range of populations, including those with trauma histories, PTSD symptoms, generalized anxiety disorder, Parkinson's disease, and diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and in varied settings, including a medical school and a workplace wellness facility. Also of note are a phenomenological inquiry into Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and a feasibility study of restorative versus vigorous yoga in cancer survivors. This year's feature article, on the Essential Properties of Yoga Questionnaire, represents a significant step forward in allowing researchers to better characterize their yogic interventions.
- Methods articles on proposed research trials relate yoga style to practice frequency and describe protocols for yoga interventions specific to the needs of those with diabetes and with Parkinson's disease.
- Rounding out the issue is a perspective on the state of yoga therapy in the German healthcare system.
