As part of the rich community celebration that was this year’s SYTAR, IAYT and Give Back Yoga Foundation paused to recognize a C-IAYT offering a meaningful yoga therapy project to an unserved population.
Ravi Kaur, C-IAYT, Itta Roussos, is the inspiring winner of our first-ever Seva Award. She will use the $1,008 prize to support yoga therapy for pregnant women and for children coping with PTSD in Johannesburg, South Africa, through projects with Streetlight School, Outreach Foundation, Ntethelelo Foundation, and Flourish.

The runner-up, Lucia Plata, C-IAYT, of Bogota, Colombia, is excited to use her award to provide yoga props for her ongoing work with those who have limited access to healthcare. Yoga Therapy for Love is Lucia’s project to reduce the suffering of cancer patients and those at the end of life.
