IAYT Privacy PolicyInternational Association of Yoga Therapists Privacy CommitmentThe International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website and the privacy of our members. It is our goal to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private, and is used only for the purposes as set forth herein. This Statement reflects our commitment to you. Information About All IAYT Website VisitorsIn general, we only gather information about our website visitors collectively, such as what areas users visit most frequently and what services and information users access the most. We only use this data anonymously and in the aggregate. This information helps us determine what is of interest to our visitors, and how we can continually create a better website. Information About Our MembersIAYT does not sell, has never sold, and does not intend to sell, trade, or share personal data about visitors or members to any third parties. IAYT uses a database management system provided by YourMembership which has access to all information about our members, however they may not use any of our data by contract. IAYT also uses a payment processing system, BluePay, which has access to payment information (i.e., credit card numbers and data related to payment processing), but does NOT have access to any other information about your account. Their privacy policy can be found here: (https://www.bluepay.com/privacy-policy/ ) We intend to provide basic contact information for our members on our site as a service to members and visitors. All members will be provided the opportunity to opt out of this service. If you initially choose to display contact information and then later decide not to, simply log onto your account and edit your account preferences. If there is any difficulty or error, please Contact Us. IAYT may collect, for internal use, statistical information about our membership in order that we may better serve them. This may include such information as the distribution of our membership by location, "style", age, etc., as well as other information an association may reasonably collect in order to better understand and serve its membership. This statistical information may also be used, in the aggregate, as IAYT works to serve the mission of the organization. For example, we may wish to answer questions such as "What % of our members have been teaching more than 10 years?" or "What % of our members are also health professionals and/or researchers?" In order to better serve our membership and visitors, IAYT also may survey our members and website visitors from time to time about their preferences and suggestions. General Information DisclosureWe do not disclose information about your individual visits to the IAYT website or personal membership information that you provide but choose not to display, such as your contact information or professional information, except when we believe the law requires it. Updating Account InformationIAYT allows you to change or correct your personal information at any time. To do so, simply log onto your IAYT account and you will find options for editing the information you have submitted. IAYT has an online directory accessible to the public at iayt.org and yogatherapy.health. If you are a credential holder, the directory allows interested parties - including potential clients and employers - to find you. However, you choose how much or how little information you want displayed, as described below. IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapists (C-IAYTs)IAYT collects personal information about IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapists (C-IAYTs)) during and after the certification process. C-IAYTs control whether they appear publicly in the directory by managing the online profile in their personal account. Yoga Therapy Member SchoolsIAYT collects personal information about Yoga Therapy Schools and their trainees during the membership registration process and after. Some of that information is automatically included in the online directory for each school, specifically: name of school and school locations, city, state, country, and zip code of school locations. Member schools have the ability to manage the information displayed by maintaining the online profile in the school account. IAYT Approved Professional Development ProvidersIAYT verifies certain members as providers of continuing education courses for credential holders to complete as part of their requirements to maintain the C-IAYT designation. Courses may be offered by Approved Professional Development Providers that meet our standards in one or more verified educational categories. Information about IAYT Approved Professional Development Providers may be found on the Website including, for example, program name, location, course details and other information they choose to share. Information provided by IAYT Approved Professional Development Providers will be used and disclosed as provided in this Privacy Policy. Opting Out of CommunicationsIf you do not want to receive on-going communications from IAYT, members can remove themselves at anytime by following the link provided in any communication received to stop receiving email. A member can also Contact Us and state your request along with your first and last name, email and postal address, and phone number. We will make every effort to process all such requests within 30 days of receipt. Online Dues and Order SecurityWhen you pay your dues or place an order online, your personal details and credit card information are scrambled using SSL encryption technology before being sent over the Internet. Although we cannot absolutely guarantee encryption or the privacy of your personal details and credit card information, SSL makes it very difficult for your information to be stolen or intercepted while being transferred. When we receive your order, it is kept encrypted until processed. The full payment information is NOT maintained in the database by either IAYT or YourMembership. Payment details are only maintained at the payment processor, BluePay, where it is maintained for future auto-renewals. BluePay meets the highest privacy standards and safeguards for your financial information. Refer to the BluePay privacy policy. CookiesTo improve the quality of your IAYT visits, we may use a feature on your Internet browser called a "cookie." Cookies are small files that your Web browser places on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are used for remembering user names and passwords, preferences, tracking click streams, and for load balancing. The use of cookies allows for faster service; consistent, updated results; and a more personalized site experience. You do have the option of setting your browser to reject cookies. Doing this, however, may hinder performance and may negatively impact your experience on our site. Your European Privacy RightsFor individuals within the European Economic Area (EEA) only: Under the GDPR, in certain circumstances, you have the right to: (a) request access to any personal information we hold about you and related information, (b) obtain without undue delay the rectification of any inaccurate personal information, (c) request that your personal Information is deleted provided the personal information is not required by IAYT for compliance with a legal obligation under European or Member State law or for the establishment, exercise or defense of a legal claim, (d) prevent or restrict processing of your personal information, except to the extent processing is required for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims; and (e) request transfer of your personal information directly to a third party where this is technically feasible. In addition, where you believe that IAYT has not complied with its obligation under this Privacy Policy or European law, you have the right to make a complaint to an EU Data Protection Authority.
